FlashBlue lets you post photos or text to Bluesky with self-destruct conditions. When those conditions are met (time limit, engagement count, or specific user interaction), FlashBlue automatically deletes the post from Bluesky on your behalf. You can also schedule posts to go live at a future time, and set up temporary follows that auto-unfollow based on a time limit or whether the other user follows you back.
To post and delete on your behalf, FlashBlue requires a Bluesky App Password. Here's how we handle it:
We do not store photos — when included, they are temporarily held on disk until the scheduled post publishes, then deleted. For immediate posts, photos are held in memory only during processing.
Post history, follow history, and session data may be cleared as a result of service updates or redeployments. This is expected behavior for the current version of FlashBlue.
FlashBlue checks destruct conditions approximately every 60 seconds. Deletion is not instant — there may be a delay of up to one minute between a condition being met and the post being removed from Bluesky. We cannot guarantee exact deletion timing.
Scheduled posts are held in our database until their publish time, then posted to Bluesky automatically. If the service is redeployed before a scheduled post publishes, that post may be lost. Self-destruct conditions on scheduled posts apply from the time the post actually publishes, not from when it was scheduled.
FlashBlue can follow a Bluesky user on your behalf and automatically unfollow them based on conditions you set — a time limit, or if they don't follow you back within a specified window. If they do follow you back, any time limit is cancelled. Follow and unfollow actions are performed using your app password and are subject to Bluesky's rate limits. We cannot guarantee exact timing of auto-unfollows.
FlashBlue is provided as-is. We make no guarantees that:
