What FlashBlue Does

FlashBlue lets you post photos to BlueSky with self-destruct conditions. When those conditions are met (time limit, engagement count, or specific user interaction), FlashBlue automatically deletes the post from BlueSky on your behalf.

Your BlueSky Credentials

To post and delete on your behalf, FlashBlue requires a BlueSky App Password. Here's how we handle it:

• Your app password is encrypted using AES-256 encryption before being stored.
• The encryption key is stored as a server environment variable — it is never in our code or version control. As with any web service, we recommend using a dedicated app password rather than your main password.
• We never store your main BlueSky password — only app-specific passwords.
• You can revoke your app password at any time from BlueSky Settings → App Passwords, which immediately prevents FlashBlue from accessing your account.
• We do not share your credentials with any third party.

What We Store

• Your BlueSky handle
• Your encrypted app password
• Metadata about your posts (URI, caption, destruct conditions, timestamps)
• Session data to keep you logged in

We do not store the photos themselves — they are uploaded directly to BlueSky and only temporarily held in memory during processing.

Post history and session data may be cleared as a result of service updates or redeployments. This is expected behavior for the current version of FlashBlue.

Post Deletion

FlashBlue checks destruct conditions approximately every 60 seconds. Deletion is not instant — there may be a delay of up to one minute between a condition being met and the post being removed from BlueSky. We cannot guarantee exact deletion timing.

No Guarantees

FlashBlue is provided as-is. We make no guarantees that:

• Posts will be deleted at the exact specified time
• The service will be available 100% of the time
• Deleted posts weren't already seen, screenshotted, or cached by others

Your Responsibility

You are responsible for the content you post through FlashBlue. Do not use FlashBlue to post content that violates BlueSky's Terms of Service or any applicable laws.

Deleting Your Account

To remove your data from FlashBlue:

• Revoke your app password in BlueSky settings
• Contact us to request data deletion
